About M. Joseph Benric

Joe Benric a small business owner, husband, and father of four.  Born in Queens, NY and raised in the suburbs of Long Island.

Concerned that his kids were not getting some basic skills and information from school wrote a guide to fill in the gaps in their education. He kept asking the question "Why don't they teach basic lessons about life, money and gratitude in school?" and "Why isn't there a simple resource where you can get this information?"

Starting with their gifts, talents and desires then adding basic things like,

  • how to open a bank account,

  • what is a credit card,

  • how do I get a job,

  • how do I find an apartment,

  • how do I file my taxes,

  • what am I supposed to be doing with my life

  • and other useful things like that

Graduation Gift is that basic resource presented in a somewhat humorous way.

Through a wide variety of personal and work experiences including being a brick cleaner, a laborer, tugboat worker, a cook, livery cab driver, boat launch driver, ditch digger, wire puller, sheetrock installer, ship simulator operator, navigator on a fast ferry, secretary, construction foreman, general contractor, property manager, author, book publisher, scout leader and father the author tries to share his practical knowledge.

Joe can usually be found spending time with his family out in nature or in his garage tinkering with something, always looking for a better way.
