Life, Money and Gratitude # 60 Live long and prosper

Prosper

Some might remember the phrase "live long and prosper" from the character Spock on the show Star Trek.

A simple phrase that can be very powerful.

Spock saved this saying for people he liked and respected, it was used as an honor.

Recently I came across the word "prosper" in a passage I was reading and I asked myself,

What does it mean to "prosper"?

I went to the dictionary and it says - prosper vb : thrive or succeed

But in the context of the passage I read it didn't seem enough, it didn't cover the true meaning of the word.

So, here is my attempt at defining prosper.

To prosper is all encompassing, to thrive and succeed spiritually, mentally, physically and financially.

If I wished for you to prosper I would want you to have ALL the best, not some or a little but all.

And I do wish for you to prosper, I do wish that you have all the best.

Here is the entire passage that I read, you decide if my take on the word prosper is a good one.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (emphasis on prosper is my own)

Jeremiah 29:11

Until next time, God Bless and be well.
